Easter weekend is filled with chocolatey temptation. That also means it can be filled with over-excited children and the inevitable sugar crash. Why not whip up a healthier Easter basket this year? One that isn’t laden with sugar and chocolate…

Here are some ideas for building a healthier Easter basket:

1 Swap solid chocolate or caramel-filled chocolate for chocolate covered fruit. Your little one still gets to enjoy chocolate, though less of it, while receiving nutrients from the fruit. Try dipping strawberries, cherries and bananas in chocolate then top with chopped, unsalted nuts.
